This weekend I was handed a bag half full of my old toys.  "Meh" I hear you cry, well that maybe the case for you but don't you remember the way your fav toys looked?

You knew every tiny detail, the way they felt, smelled, moved, even broke.  Same here.... pics to follow.

More slippers

More evidence of people out and about in slippers, this time in a supermarket.

Am I missing something? Is there a trend sweeping the nation that I’m unaware of? No? then why do I keep finding these people. Don’t get me wrong, if there is a trend which has passed me by that requires me to wear slippers outside on a day to day basis then I won’t be participating.

But the question remains, why do people insist on wearing slippers for outdoor activities? I have a feeling that this is only the start.

Don't shop on Ebay - is up and ready for your consumption.

Scott’s family went to watch a Philadelphia Wings game - it was an experience that prompts a discussion of sports fan behavior in general.

Other talking points include “the T-Mobile dance” and ”crazy things you can buy on Ebay.”

CCTV has captured the moment when two handcuffed prisoners' attempt to escape custody came to a crashing end as they ran into a lamppost. The pair ran away while awaiting their court hearing in Hastings and managed to cross a street towards a car park before they were recaptured.

"We cannot confirm the story, but the goat is in our custody."

Police in Nigeria are holding a goat on suspicion of attempted armed robbery.

Residents took the petrified animal (not unlike the one in the picture) to the police insisting it was an armed robber who used black magic to transform himself into a goat to escape arrest after trying to steal a car.

"The group of vigilante men came to report that while they were on patrol they saw some hoodlums attempting to rob a car. They pursued them. However one of them escaped while the other turned into a goat," A police spokesman said.

"We cannot confirm the story, but the goat is in our custody. We cannot base our information on something mystical. It is something that has to be proved scientifically, that a human being turned into a goat," he said.

Believe it or not but witchcraft is thought to be widespread in Nigeria.

Locals came to the police station to see the goat. It was photographed in one national newspaper on its knees next to a pile of straw, as you would expect a goat to look like while in custody.

The first two Eps of this brand new podcast are available to download as you read this. An Apotheosis of a Bombast does exactly what it says on the tin:- a perfect example of inflated speech or writing.

Listen in on (and read) Scott and Elton’s observations, analysis, and general commentary on the universe as they each see it through their little windows, 2 meters wide, on opposite sides of the Atlantic.

Show notes and Downloads can be found at http://bombastpodcast.podbean.com/

Remembering Lego

1/20/2009

I don’t know about you guys but I grew up with Lego. I, like thousands of other kids, spent many hours sat in my bedroom building spaceships, racing cars, boats, submarines, spaceships, buildings, bridges, trains & lots of spaceships. So imagine my excitement when I saw the above picture. I just hope it’s in production so I can buy it for my son.

It also got me thinking what other Lego builds would be cool. We all know Star Wars has been a big hit so with a new movie coming out in May could Star Trek do the same? or maybe G.I.Joe, Marvel or the rest of the D.C. world.

Maybe going a bit darker, how about Aliens or Predator but please no Predalien!!
